NAB Show Amplified: From the Desk of IHSE USA

Dan Holland, who serves as marketing manager at IHSE USA, reveals what products and technologies IHSE will be showing in its booth at the 2022 NAB Show, which takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center April 23–27.

IHSE USA will be showcasing its latest KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) solutions in Booth N6913 (North Hall) during the show.

What has IHSE been working on since the last NAB Show?

Dan Holland: After a two-year delay for in-person announcements at NAB, IHSE USA is excited to bring a wide reach of new products and company announcements for our KVM display management technology. Topping the list of activities, IHSE expanded its portfolio of KVM over IP solutions with the acquisition of kvm-tec. kvm-tec develops and distributes flexible, high-security KVM-over-IP solutions (KVMoIP) to extend and switch computer signals. With this acquisition, IHSE is accessing a worldwide KVMoIP customer base that will benefit from the international IHSE distribution network going forward.

Additionally, IHSE USA will introduce a new line of KVM Multiviewers, high-frame-rate extenders for competition esports, 8K resolution extenders, and a new line of hybrid KVM products that allow transparent sharing of high-resolution computer systems via local access and remote or work-at-home access.

What products or product categories is IHSE highlighting at the 2022 NAB Show?

DH: Competitive gamers and esports professionals aim for the highest frame rates possible to give them every competitive advantage. They need the smoothest animations, lowest latency, and the least amount of distractions to achieve the best results. Fast refresh rates are crucial in fast-paced action where each frame counts, but this can limit the ability to stream at lower frame rates without modifying the game play computer’s frame rate. For esports venue design professionals demanding support for higher refresh rates, IHSE will highlight the new Draco ultra eSports Extenders offering an even higher level of performance combining esports and broadcast frame rate conversion with our exclusive Synchronized Sequential Frame Rate Conversion (SSFRC) technology.

IHSE will have its Draco Multiview 4K60 4-port KVM Processor on display to demonstrate how multiviewers can be easily integrated to the IHSE KVM switch systems. This 1RU processor provides scalable, zero latency interaction with the Draco FLEX or Draco enterprise KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) matrix systems and is capable of managing four sources on a single screen by simply dragging the mouse across quadrants. Changing screen layout is done through an embedded OSD (on-screen display) or networked GUI control software.

What recent technology developments do you think are the most exciting for the media and entertainment industry?

DH: SSFRC constitutes a new generation of digital KVM signal extension allowing multi-path video frame rate management for competitive gaming without burdening the players computer processor. Esports professional gamers can play at higher frame rates while computer video imaging can be captured simultaneously for streaming or broadcasting via traditional 60 Hz. Other things coming to KVM technology is the ability to transmit higher frame rates across LAN and WAN network traffic. Resolutions up to 4K@60 Hz with full color depth is now possible without noticeable latency or loss of image quality. IHSE has introduced a new level of extenders based on a high efficiency codec supporting resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 @60 Hz and full color depth.
